Typhoon Odette’s fury
Typhon Odette unleashed fury in the Visayas and it did not spared Islænder as it flattened it’s 2 unit office in Lapu Lapu City. Barely recouping from a devastating effects of the Pandemic, strong winds ransacked Islænder’s office and left nothing but glass debris, broken office equipments and documents soaked in water. This however does not deter the management to carry on with its business despite no electricity and difficulties in communicating because all communication lines are down. One thing proven right in its business continuity program was the digitalization it adopted earlier 75 percent of the documents are no longer readable and restoring it to its original state is next to impossible. But because all documents have been scanned and uploaded into the system, it is almost as if business as usual.
